IMEA Councils and Societies are groups focused on certain areas of music education. These groups host educational events, utilize forums to discuss issues they are facing within the field, and network amongst colleagues.

Indiana Society for Music Teacher Education

The Indiana Society for Music Teacher Education is a cohort of collegiate faculty music educators that get together twice a year to discuss issues related to educating future music teachers and often provides guidance assessment and other needs in education.

Indiana Council for General Music

The Indiana Council for General Music organizes workshops, programs, and events for general music teachers.
